Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters scrambled to the scene after receiving calls around 10.50pm on Thursday. The blaze sent columns of smoke towering into the night sky as huge flames erupted from the building, which is close to nightclub and events venue Drumsheds. In an update overnight, London Fire Brigade said it the two-storey warehouse was still alight at 2.15am, along with part of an adjoining building. It said road closures were in place on Watermead Way at the junction of Leeside Road and warned motorists would face morning rush-hour disruption. The brigade received the first of over 20 calls about the fire at 10.51pm. Crews from Edmonton, Enfield, Tottenham, Chingford, Walthamstow and surrounding fire stations rushed to the scene. In a further update on Friday morning, the brigade said the warehouse had been destroyed by the fire. A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Firefighters have worked extremely hard through the night to extinguish this fire. The amount of smoke being produced by this fire was significant and we advised people, particularly within the Haringey borough area, to continue to keep their windows and doors. “Whilst most of the fire is now out, deep seated pockets of fire remain and we will maintain a presence on site through the morning.
